Differential Equations

Differential equations are useful for solving problems in which a difference in a variable effects the other variable or variables in question.
For example, the rate at which heat is lost from a house depends on the difference between the temperature in the house and the temperature outdoors.
dT
--- = k (Text - T)
dt

where T is temperature, t is time, and k is a proportionality constant.
The equation must be rearranged to place T on one side of the equation, and t on the other.
